Slickly made but shallow romantic comedy with a strong cast left to fend for themselves. What a cast. Russell Crowe, Marion Cotillard, Albert Finney, Freddie Highmore, Rafe Spall, and Archie Panjabi are all trying. They seemed like they were having fun making this. But it's pretty dull when it's not stupid. Running gags meant as comedy include scorpion infestations or dated references to Lance Armstrong. It's difficult to generate dramatic tension from ill-timed vineyard inspections.
