The corporate battle between Ford and Ferrari for the prize of victory at the Le Mans racing tournament is dramatized as a splendid well oiled crowd-pleaser. Matt Damon and Christian Bale both do an excellent job as the creative designer Carroll Shelby and crafty driver Ken Miles that team up to get the job done. The pair work surprisingly well together and add a nice layer of vulnerability to their other-wise larger than life characters. Tracy Letts is fun as the demanding CEO himself, Henry Ford II. The auto-racing scenes are excitingly staged and the sound design is outstanding.
