Science fiction/adventure film about an expedition to the lost world of Atlantis. Directed by Kevin Connor who also directed The Land That Time Forgot and its superior sequel The People that Time Forgot, two similar films about lost races and dinosaurs.
The movie's ambition is more laudable, with some set designs and matte paintings that look interesting. But like Connor's previous movies, it is hampered by awful special effects for the various creatures. Rubbery monster suits and scale models are what we're stuck with.
Doug McClure is the action hero and is wooden as always. His costar Peter Gilmore is better than he should be. Look for a young John Ratzenberger as a villainuos sailor.
