Offbeat monster movie that liberally apes the Jaws formula but is more comedic about it. For example, a great white hunter (Henry Silva no less!) decked in safari khakis hires black teens as his "urban guides". It's a winking goofiness like that sprinkled throughout the picture that makes it slightly less disposable than the likes of GRIZZLY or ORCA.
