Crime drama of various crooks who bust out of prison to collect a ransom for a dead kidnapping victim. It's semi-documentary in style and fairly gritty for its time. It has a rogues gallery of tough guy or villain actors like Broderick Crawford, Charles Bronson, Ralph Meeker, and Lon Chaney Jr.
