Never judge a book by its cover. Or a movie by its title. I sincerely thought this was a western or something similar. The actual movie is about a roughneck crew of firefighters who literally parachute into action to put out forest fires. That’s already something different.
The firefighting action is well shot and suspenseful for a fifties movie. Richard Widmark plays a smokejumper who is suspected of cowardice during one such blaze. He’s pretty good.
