There's a nostalgia factor that's welcome with 'Reality Bites'. It harkens back to the early 1990s when MTV and grunge was the pinnacle of pop culture. That's kind of funny. But the movie thinks its main plot (a love triangle between Ryder, Hawke, and Stiller) is more fascinating than it actually is. And that's a mistake. Janeanne Garofalo is amusing whenever she turns up.
