Richard Pryor plays Wendell Scott, a black bootlegger turned stock-car racer. As far as sports dramas go, it doesn’t reinvent the wheel. But it’s interesting seeing Richard Pryor lend his comedic style for a few good gags. Or even perform seriously in the more dramatic moments. Pam Grier and Beau Bridges are solid in supporting roles.
