This movie is well cast and the location shots in what was then Soviet Russia look great. The movie is just so flat and boring though. You have Sean friggin Connery and Michelle Pfeiffer in your movie and this is the story they go with? Admittedly it's better than later Connery star vehicles like 'MEDICINE MAN'. But while that movie was bad, I can't say it was boring necessarily.
