This biblical epic is pretty silly and it's hard not to giggle at dramatic line-reading that keeps referencing 'sodomites'. But Aldrich does give it this grand scale and the action is pulpy good fun. It's a campy spectacle but not a boring one. Stewart Granger is pretty good at delivering the goofy dialogue.
