Star studded movie comprised up of about 50 to 60 percent worth of flashbacks. The style is reminiscent of a film noir but the story is actually more like a sappy melodrama. Basically the lead character (Gary Merrill) pays a visit to the loved ones of three strangers he met before they all died in a plane crash he happened to survive. Then each visit gives way to a series of flashbacks meant to make the family happier and/or wiser, I guess. This is as disjointed as it sounds. It is really too bad because the people who are dead are set up as fascinating characters.
