Director Walter Hill is a legend when it comes to the western genre. But this was an odd sit for a movie which takes elements from Richard Brooks' classic THE PROFESSIONALS (1966). The dialogue is not that imaginative and the editing in the shootouts is not very good. The shoddy cinematography has this ugly sepia filter which robs the movie of any color. If there is anything to give praise, it's Christoph Waltz and Willem Dafoe. Speaking of whom, Dafoe is not in the movie very much. But he chews the scenery when he appears. Overall, this was a cheap looking western that wasn't very exciting.
