Virginia Mayo fits her role as the femme fatale like a glove in this. Except she is actually not in the movie that much as the sap she set up as a patsy winds up on the run for half the movie. Zachary Scott is good casting for this kind of character. Not a good guy per se, but less unsavory than his associates and now has to clear his name by any means necessary. The movie takes a lot of twists and turns though I cannot say the conclusion will be satisfying for everyone. It certainly wasn't for me.
