Eleanor Parker livens things up in this historical melodrama that starts out intriguingly enough. But then it becomes confusing and I grew less interested in the resolution. Sydney Greenstreet is a reliable villain and Agnes Moorehead lends some gravitas to a small role. Gig Young was so boring he disappears from half the movie. Nice B&W cinematography though.
