The movie has good intentions but it is kind of boring.
The real-life story is a fascinating subject. Kerry Washington is fine. Ebony Obsidian is not bad either.
I commend Tyler Perry for stepping out of his comfort zone and direct a period drama instead of a slapstick comedy. But this felt more like a history lesson than an actual movie.
