Clarke Duke (Hot Tub Time Machine) tries his best as a director. It's not...bad. But it doesn't flow as well as he probably wanted it to. For no particular reason, the plot is nonlinear. We got one half that is an origin story for Vince Vaughn's character which keeps interrupting the present-day subplot. There are some quirky character moments. Like it's trying to be a Tarantino movie. Clarke Duke is not convincing as a drug dealer. Liam Hemsworth fares better. Eden Brolin (Yellowstone) is great in this.
