This is bar-none the goriest entry in the series, but it also marks the point where the movie franchise takes revenge on it's loyal fans. Until now, the anti-hero that is Jason Vorhees was somewhat of a mystery. Nobody seems to be able to kill him. He is a super-zombie like Solomon Grundy in the DC comics... O.K., Grundy can talk so it's not exact, but you get the idea.
However, now Jason's secret is revealed. There is a giant worm creature living in him and it is attempting to kill off the Vorhees line. Huh?!? Yes. Oh, and it can only be killed by a magical dagger. CJP, you be lying and crazy!!! No, that is the plot and the worm starts jumping from body to body. When it is finally stabbed with the magic dagger the heavens open and a ray of pure light kills Jason... or Jason's worm, I'm not sure what the exact name is now. Last, Freddy's clawed hand reaches up and drags his mask to hell. Great ending! The build up is some of the purest junk recycled in cinema though.
