One of the best films ever made

One of the best movies ever made. It is both beautiful and inspiring. The acting is great and although I still think they should have hired a teenager to play young Mel Gibson it doesn't take much away. One of the best parts about this movie is the battle scenes. I truly think that Mel Gibson changed the way large battle scenes were directed and his formula of getting up and close and still preserving the scale of the fight is used on most epic battle scenes today.
The main reason this movie is great is the fact he made me really care not only for the characters but the cause. It is nice knowing who is the good and bad guys but still not knowing if it is going to end happy. The result is an entertaining movie that has something to offer for everyone.
