I Sure As Hell Hope For A Better Tomorrow

Brad Bird, a very good filmmaker, directed "Tomorrowland," a boring movie with a boring message that is pounded over the audience's head over and over again. I liked the characters; I thought they had some good energy and humor. There is one shot that showcases Bird's true strengths as a filmmaker, and that is a tracking shot following our hero as she is introduced to the wondrous Tomorrowland, as we are in that moment. Otherwise, "Tomorrowland" employs heavy earth-bound exposition, throwaway plots and murky confusion, all of which easily loses the viewer's attention as it continues to ramble on and on to its disappointing final act.
I am all for original work, and "Tomorrowland" stands as an original film with good intentions. I just wished this film wasn't such an ordeal to sit through.
