Rogue Nation

"Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" is one of the better entries in the "M.I." series. Director Christopher McQuarrie presents the action on a large scale and succeeds in injecting them with lots of tension and surprises. Tom Cruise is as good as ever as Ethan Hunt, and as a team-oriented story the film is well written and structured, with supporting players including Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, and Jeremy Renner providing entertaining standouts. The "M.I." series has always had an act for delivering weak villains. While Hoffman's bad guy in "Mission: Impossible 3" is still the series' most effective, the villain in this installment is perfectly passable.
With some tense action and a genuinely entertaining story and characterizations to support the tense action, "M.I.5" turns out to be one of the summer's best movies.
