A very competent thriller, starring the reliable Al Pacino. What really made this movie stand out above the endless string of serial killer whodunnits however was interestingly enough, Robin Williams. Instead of doing what would be the predictable thing in this casting circumstance, and have Williams' character be some deranged jokester (think Batman's The Riddler), Williams is a very logical, interesting adversary for Pacino and I thought the most interesting character in the film.
Great direction by Christopher Nolan, of course, and the plot device of the never-setting Midnight Sun of Alaska was also interesting. I'd like to see the Norwegian original now.
