Another Victory for "The Chosen One"

I usually don't like to comment on Harry Potter films because there is simply just too much to say. However, I will add in my two cents for this one. I thought the actors were incredible. They have all grown into their characters really well. They've had it down since the beginning really, but this film was just something different. I must say in the books I hated the idea of Ron and Hermione being together. It made me want to vomit, but watching the outpour of emotion on screen just brought their relationship to a whole different light and I was rooting for Ron and Hermione all the way.
Now as for the film itself (sigh). Let me preface this by saying that J.K. Rowling writes incredibly long stories and it would require entirely too many resources to try and transfer all of her work to film. However, it was just painful to see so many things missing. I will never go as far to say that an HP was not good. They are all good, because the story is good. It just gets a little frustrating when you know that so much is missing. Does this mean that I won't watch it again? Does this mean that when it hits the stores that I will not add to my DVD collection? Absolutely not. Aside from lacking in certain aspects of the book, the film really was well done. I can also appreciate the difficulty of trying to adapt this one to the big screen. While the previous 5 installments had something of an action/adventure/whodunnit element, this one was really all substance. The Half-Blood Prince was really setting us up for the final chapter of this amazing tale.
With that being said, despite the disappoint (and not a heart-shattering disappoint--an "i knew it" disappoint) I will still tip my hat to all who were involved in this because all really did an incredible job. I'm sure these final two are gonna really bring it home for HP fans.
