A Nice Journey

This was a good, solid movie. I loved seeing Jonathan Rhys Meyers play this role--he seemed so sincere. He is such a good actor. I thought the story was portrayed really well. Basically, George Hogg is a British journalist who was in China during Japan's occupation of China during the 1930's. Along the way he meets some people and ends up running a boy's orphanage in the mountains. When the Chinese army came looking to recruit some of these boys Hogg and his associates took the boys and trekked 700 miles across the mountains for two months to escape the dangers of the war.
While this is an amazing real life story, it's cinematic translation was not as epic; but like I said, it was still a good solid movie. Putting his gorgeousness aside, when Meyers is in a movie its very difficult not to watch. He really is a brilliant actor.
