One of the best cinematographic accomplishments in capturing the feel and essence of the comic it is derived from without showboating an overt comic format (Sin City).
It is brilliant at conveying the legendary status of the event without pulling out hokey antics or over-the-top "cinema 2.0" embellishments.
300, with it's pace and weight, makes the audience able to escape into being a child listening to the telling of the legendary 300 Spartans with wonder and amazement. The impossibility and awe.
