Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope

Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope is the best! Why?

Don't get me wrong, empire strikes back is one of the most impactful and deep and greatest films ever made. I like return of the Jedi too! However, if you look at each movie as a whole, Star Wars 1977 has the most coherent closure, direction, and sensibility. While every Star Wars movie has flaws, a new hope has the least while Jedi has the most (out of the OT of course). I will begin with Star Wars 1977's biggest flaw, which is the design of the Death Star. That design makes no sense at all, however the rebellion would not have been able to achieve victory for the first time against the empire. Now in empire, the largest flaws, I am afraid to say, are the teachings of Yoda. I love Yoda as a character, but not as a mentor to Luke. To explain, Yoda tells Luke in degobah that if you let anger get the better of you, the dark side will consume you. This makes no sense at all. When Luke was fighting Vader, losing miserably I might add, at the end of empire strikes back, he did what exactly what Yoda had said to him, and he lost his arm! And in the next movie, he abandons Yoda's advice as he annihilates Vader to the verge of utter weakness. What the? Back to empire, boba fett needed to at least act like an evil bounty hunter before the end, but no, instead he dies immediately in the next movie literally before he could even do anything cool. Star Wars OT is amazing, but honestly gets more and more flawed after the medal ceremony at the end of a new hope. I am happy to hear any feedback on why you agree or disagree with my theory. Once again I love all of the original trilogy, but Star Wars 1977 is still my favorite. Thanks for hearing me out guys.
