Among my favorite French films. This drama has the title-play of The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance in mind as it seeks to explore if restitution can fully redeem a person even when the laws call for justice instead of mercy. Beautifully done with great acting by Juliette Binoche and Daniel Auteuil, it is recommended.
