Bloom is Fun

Today, I saw The Brothers Bloom and it was surprisingly enjoyable. I like all the main actors: Mark Ruffalo, Adrian Brody, and Rinko Kikuchi (who dances through her role with barely saying a word). However, Rachel Weisz is usually give or take for me, but I really enjoyed her personality in this movie, because she got to show off a little.
Nora Zehetner and Joseph Gordon Levitt from Rian Johnson's directorial debut (Brick) appeared in one club scene.
The problem with a movie like this is that it's going to fall under most people's noses, because it's quirky and cute. However, it was well written. I liked the fact that the film started from the time when the brothers were children.
Just a note, Brick didn't really work for me in all senses. The dialogue wasn't comprehensible at all times. But Brothers Bloom was much easier to grasp, and wasn't idiotic (the preview made it seem like it could have been). Anyway, two thumbs up for this one.
