Even though this is not the best Eric Rohmer film, it's certainly worth watching. The story reels you in. Although pretty soon into the movie it is obviously a Rohmer film, since the dialogue is so abundant. The characters will not shut up! Rohmer is famous for this. Even though it's a period piece, the costumes are a bit silly. It sort of looks like they are wearing tablecloths. But still, Rohmer must be 89 by now, which means he was in his late eighties while making this film. That is incredibly remarkable. He definitely still has his wits about him.
