The Butcher Boy

So this must be my five millionth Neil Jordan film. I didn't necessarily love it as much as I had some others. Jordan explained in the commentary that the boy's character was much darker in the book. I think for such a "bad" boy, he needed to have that darkness 1) to be believable and 2) to be scary. Eamonn Owens is a good actor, but I'm sure it was in the way Neil Jordan directed him. All in all, it was okay movie. 6/10
