Don't Just Stand There...Drive

Drive - not sure what to make of this film. Luckily I was the only one in the theater, cuz I was laughing the second Albert Brooks came on screen. Sorry, he makes me laugh no matter what. And can't stand Ryan Gosling. Love Carey Mulligan, but she smiled too much, especially in the beginning. Swedish director - or at least Scandinavian. Passed on one of his other films, because it looked terrible. The music and clothes were weird and '80s. THEN - there were cell phones in the movies, so I'm like, what it's present day? I used to live in L.A. It's not as dangerous anymore although stuff still happens. But I thought it was overkill. Okay, so it's a movie. Fine......... Anyway, 4/10. Would have rated it higher had the dude been more likeable (to me) and if he didn't stand there looking like he was trying to be cool like James Dean. Lame.... & it ripped off so many films, like Gladiator, A Serious Man, Lost Highway and I'm like okay, so you have this soundtrack that sounds like the Bangles were trying to be the Postal Service, but I think there were two separate songs they played 5 million times each. I liked parts of it. But overall, I wondered why Christina Hendricks is a working actress. And the tough guy dialogue with Ron Perlman, I didn't even flinch. I'm like, who wrote this garbage? It's not funny? It's not believable. Ron Perlman was kinda good though, in some ways.
