There Will Be Deafening Explosions

There Will Be Paul Dano as a preacher with as much enthusiasm as Tom Cruise in Magnolia. In moments, I felt that Paul Dano wasn't exactly with the program or the best actor. Then fast forward to twenty years later in the end. Everyone has aged except him. He is still a 20ish preacher, even though he is supposed to be 40. Couldn't they get a better makeup artist?
Daniel Day Lewis had great moments, but this is far from his greatest role ever. The children were great. P.T. Anderson is heading in a different direction to say the very least. There were surprise moments in the film. However, I really couldn't stand the jarring music. Using Ciaran Hinds was a waste of talent, because his character was never given a moment to shine. However, this film goes to show that he can pull off any accent. Add Texan accent to the list (English, Irish, Russian, etc.).
