Definitely one of the worst movies of 2007. This movie failed to capture the essence of Jane Austen and the writer had no respect for Jane's uprightness. It portrayed her as a voyeuristic rebel. Even though I enjoyed Anne Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada, she was dreadfully miscast in this movie. This movie is an abomination. Being very familiar with Jane Austen's life, it seemed that the writer was looking forward to a paycheck or was hoping Paris Hilton would be drawn to the role, by making her trashier. In effort to be funny, he completely missed the point. I hope Kevin Hood does not write any scripts in the future. If he does, I will have to avoid them.
