The Treasure of the Sierra Madre

I approve. Behold a cinematically legendary adventure masterpiece, a key influence in the creation of famous blockbusters like Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), and the first film proof of B. Traven's insatiable passion and taste for the Mexican culture, 12 years before Macario (1960) was released. Reasons that claim this magnum opus as Huston's best film are countless (my full support still goes with The Maltese Falcon [1941]), but plot twists and an amazing character development have accurately established its very much deserved reputation. Jaw-dropping, atmospheric and invigorating depictions of Tampico, Michoacán and Acapulco, la conservadora de las playas más famosas de todo México, and an unforgettable antagonistic Bogart have transformed it into a powerful tale of greed, lust and materialistic morality.
