Riz Ahmed deserves Oscar recognition for his performance as a drummer and recovering drug addict whose life as he knows it is altered in unexpected ways. "Sound of Metal" is a surprisingly deep story about finding new purpose and overcoming disability that doesn't rely on sugary tropes.
