Close to half of "Sponge on the Run" is reused premises and moments from iconic episodes, like something written by by a bot forced to watch several hours worth of the series. I started to get sucked in as it neared the end, but this third "Spongebob Squarepants" movie over corrects with a contrived advertisement for its upcoming spin-off series disguised as a moral about the importance of friends.
