The 80s were full of horror remakes that outdid the originals, and Paul Schrader's erotic and grotesque take on "Cat People" is no exception. He amplifies the carnal, sexual desires that were only hinted at in Tourneur's version while expanding on its lore without stamping out its senses of suspense and mystery.
