Paul Schrader sets his masterful sights on ambitions this movie can't even come close to conquering.While I respect it for its practical portrayal of the supernatural, opening the possibility of a horror film that can be more thoughtful than gore and jump scares, it just isn't very scary and makes hardly a mark on the legacy of "The Exorcist."
