"The Monkey" is at its best when it embraces its absurdity. Combining R-rated Looney Tunes style gore with a cursed artifact premise, this horror-comedy metaphor for the psychological burdens truma and family can leave on us is a solid Stephen King adaptation that also works as a parody of the tropes most often found in King's stories and books.
