Refreshingly bizarre

Its hard to know what to make of this movie. Its part jaw-droppingly-bad low-budget mess, part tender coming-of-age drama, part slasher, and part bat-shit insane. It begins as a low-budget mess; it's hard to watch, but you must press on. Then boom, there are bat-shit-insane scenes with an openly-pedophilic cook that you can't believe made it into the film. Then there's another abrupt change of gears and you're treated to some quiet moments with Angela, and you start thinking wondering if a pleasant indie drama was spliced onto the insane low-budget mess you'd just been watching. And then there are the killings. And all of that. rolled up into a weird, crazy ball, ends up being quite watchable. But it's the ending - one of the greatest endings in cinematic history - that makes this film a must-see.
