Set in Sin City, story revolves around two people who discover they've gotten married following a night of debauchery, with one of them winning a huge jackpot after playing the other's quarter. Unhappy pair try to undermine each other and get their hands on the money -- falling in love along the way
Well I don't watch films like this normally as from the trailer, I can see that I'm not going to like it. I was right and wrong. What Happens in Vegas is not a terrible film, nor is it a very good one at that. It suffers from lack of orginality and uniqueness. While the plot is slightly orginal at the beginning it falls under the preditcablity plot and you end up feel less satsified than you might have buying the ticket to see the film. While it seems interesting enough the film, for me it went up and down throughout the film.
Havening said all that I did sit through it and get into the film at some points. Diaz and Kutcher have a lack of chemistry on screen which is unbelievable, but because you know it's bad...what you're watching but you can excuse that as the film's purpose is not to gain large amounts of Academy Award nominations.
It was good to see Queen Latifah and not to good. One because you wonder why she attaches herself to projects like this with an academy award nomination uder her belt and 2 because she brought a sense of nomality to the film. I suddenly realised that I shouldn't take this film seriously as it don't take itself seriously.
I did laugh, not a full laugh, at some points most notably with Jack's friend and Joy's friend, who I can't remeber their names, their relationship was more interesting to watch on screen. His character was funny to watch also.
I only watched this as my friend didn't like my suggestion nor did I like hers, do this was the one. Overall Vegas is a resonable, watchable film if you watch this sort of film normally. However if you're like me and love you're cinema, watch a film like this occasionaly but not everyday as it will bore you.
Recomended date film but not if you love your cinema. I would probably watch this again on a weekend afternoon when I have nothing else better to do.
