Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is a gigantic disappointment to one of the best franchise's in film history. This movie is not even in the same league as the first two films. With such a huge budget that this film had, you would think they would give you something worth cheering for, that's not the case here. The story is lame and so is the script. The direction is good along with the acting(as always). Johnny Depp's jack sparrow character is actually a supporting character this time around and his performance here is good. I loved Geoffrey Rush's terrific performance as Captain Barbossa, his character is basicly the lead role in this film. Keira Knightley steals the film, giving a wonderful performance and is actually given something to do this time around. Naomie Harris is good as is Orlando Bloom, although it seems like Bloom's character is only given a story here to keep up with the rest of the main cast. Chow Yun-Fat is wasted as the new character Captain Sao Feng. Bill Nighy and Stellan Skarsgard who were both terrific in Dead Mans Chest are wasted here and given only minimal screen time. Keith Richards is even wasted as Captain Teague. This film has lost the Intrigue and Excitement, Laughs and Fun that made the film two films great. The action scenes are good, but not when they're all the film depends on. After a slow start, the film picks up, but then towards the middle, it gets downright boring and never fully succeeds to entertain. It's also more overlong than usual. Jack Sparrow's constant Schizophrenic/Hallucination scenes are annoying. Stay through the final credits to see a pretty important, yet pointless scene. If this is truly the end of the franchise, we deserve better.
