I had pretty much lost respect for Sam Mendes due to the disaster of the pretentious and ridiculous of Revolutionary Road, but he mostly gets back on track with this small film, in which a couple start looking for a place to settle down when they learn they are having a baby. There's a good cast, and though the characters sometimes get a little too quirky, there's plenty of emotion and story here to sustain the film. At times Mendes can't help himself and tries to gets a little too artistic (did you know that when you're the main characters in a movie, you stand as still as a statue while everyone else moves around you?), but the good pairing of Krasinski and a surprisingly strong Maya Rudolph make for a good watch.
