A decent adaptation of Alice Sebold's novel, though much of the themes of letting go and moving on are shortened, which may be better, because I don't know if that would have been an interesting movie to watch. Instead, the main focus is on Susie watching from "the in-between" as her family struggles to cope with her murder, as well as try to solve it themselves. Good work from the cast, particularly Stanley Tucci as the villainous murderer.
