A strong film helped by the performance of Jennifer Lawrence. It's a very bleak movie to watch, almost like watching a movie like Frozen River, in which you see the poorest of the poor doing everything they can to survive. In this case it involves a 17 year old trying to track down her drug dealing father in order to keep her family together. A dark world involving meth dealers, shady cops, and the elements are explored here. Lawrence is certainly the standout, as she's in nearly every scene and you can totally feel her character's struggle.
