The Sorcerer's Apprentice was a good fantasy/family adventure. The special effects were strong and good, but not mind blowing. The story was cute and worked, though there was a bit too much telling and not enough showing at the beginning. I thought Nicolas Cage was the most charming and entertaining that I've seen him in awhile, so that was a big happy surprise. Jay Baruchel did a really good job and gave the movie a nice tone, though I really wish the whole thing had just a touch more edge the way Pirates of the Caribbean did when it came out.
