This is not only one of my favorite horror movies but it is absolutely one of my favorite movies in general. I threw it into my Top 20 without flinching. Danny Boyle found a lifetime fan in me with this film. Cillian Murphy is the only person that I could see as the lead, and his performance was excellent. 28 Days Later was relentless, horrifying, and made the viewer uncomfortable at every possible turn. Zombies that can run just as fast if not faster than you....OMG! Terrifying stuff. At some point near the middle of the film, it takes a turn that you may not have seen coming, the movie slows down just a tad, but you will welcome it with a sigh of relief. You will be so revved up on adrenaline that you will embrace the opportunity to exhale, and the next few scenes are very needed to show another side of what could happen to the minds of some people amidst the tragedy of a terrible event of this nature.
The ending left a little something to be desired in my opinion, but all lingering questions were answered in 28 Weeks Later..........
