So, the brother from the t.v. show 'family matters' does another meaningful movie besides 'Mississippi Burning.' This movie came out in 1987, and I probably saw it two or three years later when I was only 12 or thirteen. I just remember loving this movie. It stars a boy who has to cope with the passing of his father. He decides to run away and all that he cares about in the world is the watch that his father gave him. He winds up on the wrong side of town and gets beated up by some mischievious boys who take his bike and his watch. One of the boys, the family matters boy, who is there when the beating takes place feels bad and stays behind and befriends the boy. Together they go around town trying to locate his watch and become best of friends. During which the boy who lost his dad, Obie-yes that is his name, discovers that Scam, the boy from family matters-yes that is his name, would love to track down his own father. They eventually find Obie's watch and the location of Scam's father. The only way to Scam's father is by ferry, they have no money and Obie gives the ferryman his father's watch as payment for the two boys to ride. Scam says, 'no, that's your father's watch' and you just have to see the rest to find out what happens. It is a great movie, with a great scene where Obie goes back home and steals his mom's car to track down Scam. Not a masterpiece, but a good hearted movie to see.
