I was hesitant on watching this trilogy when I first heard about it- only because I thought it was meant for more of a children audience......how wrong could I be. Led by the excellent story written by J.R.R. Tolkien and directed masterfully by Peter Jackson it features a wonderful cast and is one of the best fantasy adventures ever put on screen. All three in the series were remarkable and it all began with The Fellowship of the Ring which first brought Frodo, Sam, Gandolf, Legolas, Pippin and a host of others to life. Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Ian McKellan, Orlando Bloom, Viggo Mortensen, Cate Blanchett, Liv Tyler, John Rhys-Davis, Sean Bean, Ian Holm and Hugo Weaving are part of what possibly is the greatest cast ever put together. Jackson is very artful at bringing it all together and the original hooks you in from the moment the story unfolds. A fantastic first part of an epic series.
