Forrest Gump is a heartwarming tale about a mentally slow young man as he makes his journey through life. Forrest encounters many interesting people through this journey that makes him a better person and helps him deal with his disability. He is raised by a strong mother ( played wonderfully by Sally Field) that teaches him self worth. He falls in love with Jenny (Robin Wright Penn) and this love is what keeps Forrest determined.. This movie is outstanding because of the acting of Hanks, Penn, and most of all Gary Sinise. Sinise's portrayal of Captain Dan is by far his best work. The direction by Robert Zemeckis is outstanding. But the best part of the movie is the infussion of key times in history into Forrest's life. From teaching Elvis Presley the Pelvis Gyro to reporting Watergate, Forrest's life couldn't have a dull moment. This move is a must see and just misses my Top 10 at #12!!
