Will (Hugh Grant) was an immature man who did nothing with his life before he met Marcus (Nicholas Hoult). He learns to be an adult through this child in “About a Boy.”

To date I haven’t seen a Grant film that wasn’t absolutely charming (granted, I’ve only seen two), and this is no exception. He always seems to choose films where he plays the unlikely love interest. Or maybe he’s just typecast?

This film also was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the Oscars, which I believe it deserved (winning, I don’t know, as I haven’t seen “The Pianist”). The story is great, and somehow made me want to watch “Kramer vs. Kramer” again (even though the two have nothing in common whatsoever).

While I don’t think I’ve explained myself very well, I think “About a Boy” is a very fun, very true movie that is told in a new and unique way.
